Four emerging ocean professionals. Four important questions. One shared goal: building practical solutions for the future of our blue carbon ecosystems. The Blue Carbon Hub is delighted to welcome four Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) from across the Indian Ocean region to Perth, Western Australia, for our 2026 ECOP program.

Our oceans and coasts are powerful allies in our efforts to solve some of the most intractable societal and environmental problems of our time: food security, climate change, biodiversity loss. At the Blue Carbon Hub (BCH), based at the University of Western Australia in Perth, the shores of the beautiful Indian Ocean, our mission is to use science to harness this power.

Join us for an online information session to learn more about this fully supported, eight-week program and hear directly from past ECOP participants about their experiences. Our alumni will share how the program helped develop their careers, expand their international networks, and provide opportunities to contribute to blue carbon science, policy and finance across the Indian Ocean region.
